The Lord is my light...

Dear Family,

Hello!! How are all of you? I got your smile card mom and I love it!! Did you make that? Also thank you for the smoothie recipes! I am so excited to try them. So is Orderville getting way warm? Just tell my everything!!
So I must tell you all a mission is the best thing ever! It is hard, but it is so worth it. I am learning so much! so here in the mission we hear a lot about what we should do and how to do it. But you all know me I get board unless we actually go out and do something about it. So I came across 1 Nephi 3:7 and what really stuck out to me was the part when Nephi says he will GO and DO the things the Lord commands. He didn't say well...maybe when I have time or after I learn a little more. He just knew what he needed to do and he did it. I love Nephi's get'er done attitude. I am striving to be more like him in everything that I do in the mission. My time here is to short to say well...when I learn more then I will go out and try. SO even though I am weak I am going and doing what the Lord has commanded me. Anyways that is just one thing that I have been able to apply while I have been here. Also there is this really amazing talk titled "The Master Bridge Builder" by Thomas S. Monson. You all should totally look it up and read it, cause I know you would love it.
Okay as for me I am doing so good! This last week has been like always quite the adventure. Sister Olsen and I got a car to use for about a month which is so nice! It is BRAND NEW!! I never thought I would drive the nicest cars I have ever driven in my life on my mission! It is way fun! Lol so this week I got asked out on a date, by one of our investigators. It was so awkward. But at the same time so funny! This last week we also met with a lady named Keisha Carmichael. She is the funniest lady I have ever met. I am excited to let you know how it goes. Also the other day we were out knocking and we knocked into this lady named Rebbecca. She is from Mexico and she was at work baby sitting when we met her. She seemed really interested and we gave her a Book of Mormon. I will also let you know that this one pans out as well. So last night we were out knocking and at each door we knocked on it went something like this: I'm Jewish......you have 25 SECONDS!......Sure I'll take a card, actually I am not going to look at it you can have it back.....you can call my Bill Ritchie, or real Bi#!$!!......Some man speaking Chinese??? ( me walking away scratching my head) It was probably the most entertaining street I have knocked since I have been here on my mission. It makes my laugh just thinking about it. Well Family I am doing so well I love you all and thank you so much for the support!!!

Happiness!

Dear Family,

Thank you so much for the letters I love them. And the picture of Jordan, you are so beautiful! Mom with that email about my higher one card, maybe you should try to disable it, because it sounds like it is going to charge me $19 a month, so I really don't want that. Also thank you for Milton's email and for Vicki's as well. I am glad to hear that it is starting to get spring! I am super excited for summer here! Cause it is going to be beautiful!!!! You will have to let me know if that man bought your truck. Good job on getting it paid off I am happy for you. I am glad to hear that Jordan is back at work! How is it going? How is subway? I am sorry to hear about work dad I will continue to pray for you! I love you and I am so happy that you got to watch conference it was so good. Mom and Jordy you should watch it online. Mom I love that you read that letter from Shawn that he sent the family. I love that guy. I am totally blown away that he comes home it less than three months!! You will have to invite him over for dinner or something.
So I have been doing really well. It has been really wet and cold lately, sister Olsen and I walked out in the rain for about 9 hours it was so a pretty long day and I slept like a rock that night. It was so fun!! The buses have been quite the adventure, but I just found out today that we are getting a car back for the next 6 weeks or so. I am so happy about that! Even though I really like walking, because I don't get to work out nearly as much as I want. :s So sister Olsen and I have been fed by members three nights in a row and that never happens. I am very grateful for that because we never have time to cook or anything. We are teaching some really cool people right now, but at the same time a lot of people are leaving which is sad. I think that when people tell you they don't want to have you teach them anymore and when people you love leave are the hardest things about a mission I would rather do hard manual labor everyday than have people I love leave. But that's just me. Anyways I am still learning so much and I love it. I am striving to be a better teacher and I will tell you what it is a hard process. But I am so grateful for the opportunity I have to stretch myself and become a better person. So I realize that I only brought out winter clothes and soon it will be summer! So I bought some cute summer shirts today which I am really happy about. So thanks for the update on how much money I have on my Card. Well Family I love you all so much. I am loving life and I will talk to you soon!

"I thank my God upon every remembrance of you" -Philippians 1:3

FAMILY!!!! HI!!!!!

Oh my goodness if feels so good to be writing you!! I am so happy that you both had so much fun on your trip! I can't wait to hear all about it. I hope you took lots of pictures. I am happy that you got my letter today and I am glad that you like the pictures!! I am still sorry that my email last week was lame sauce, but I am writing a better one this week so happy! This past week has been really good. I think I say that every time, but every week seems so good. The time here is flying by! I can't believe it is already April 7th! Speaking of April how was every ones Easter?? Did you all get to watch conference? Cause I know that I did and it was so awesome! I am very grateful for conference and the things that I was able to learn, but at the same time it made me really appreciate watching conference at home. Cause here everyone has to go to the Church house and watch it. So be grateful that you can sit in your PJ's and watch it. One quote that I got out of conference is "a journey of a thousand miles starts with one step; so watch your step!' I thought that was so true. Also I thought the theme was families and strengthening the homes. So I just say if you are not having regular family prayer and scripture study start. Because the world is only going to get more and more wicked and we need to keep our homes a safe strong place. Don't worry mom, dad, and Jordan I am not getting after you for all I know you are doing that right now, but I just thought I would give you my insight.
The weather this past week has been really good! Easter weekend was sooo amazing!! I didn't have to wear a coat and I only had to wear one layer of tights!! I am so excited for summer! The grass is already really green and there are flowers every where here! Someday I think we should come back here as a family just so you can see how pretty it is!! So tomorrow our car is getting taken from us and we will be riding the bus! I am super nervous, but at the same time excited. I am going to really have to be organized. This week is transfers and don't worry I am staying in Halifax with sister Olsen. We are getting a long great and we work well together. Oh I forgot to tell you I had not one but two Easter dinners this past weekend and they were so good and huge!! people here feed you like you are a king or something! So mom or Jordan I was wondering if you could send me some recipes of smoothies and really easy fast meals!
So this past week some really cool things have happened. Yesterday we were volunteering at the military center and we got into this conversation with this man named Terry. Well he has been reading on Mormon.org and we really loves everything that he has learned. We hopefully are going to be able to teach him soon. Also two Chinese boys named Joe and Ji are doing really good. We are going to commit them to baptism this week and I will let you know how it goes. Also we met this man named Wayne on the street and had a really good conversation with him. He said he has been looking for a church over 10 years! We gave him a Book of Mormon and we are going to try and meet with him. Yesterday we were knocking on doors and this old man answered and I will tell you what he is one of the meanest men I have ever met. He told Sister Olsen and I that this "religious" thing we were going through was just a fad and he told us that we were crazy and we didn't have any place coming around talking to people. It was hard to shake off, but I just smiled and told him to have a wonderful day. I wonder if something terrible happened in his life to make him so bitter. But over all things here in Halifax are going so good! I am nervous for summer to come, because all of the college students will be going home and the Young single adult branch I am serving in will become really small. But no worries.
So how is Orderville? What things are new? How is everyone? Dad how is work? Family I love you so much and like it says in my heading I thank my God upon every remembrance of you! I am so grateful that God placed me in the family that he did. So thank you all for being so AWESOME!! I hope you all have a wonderful week and I will hear from you soon!!

Love,

Rained on, wind blown and cold

Dear Family,

HI!!!! How are all of you? I heard about Grampa getting married and it seems so strange to me, but whatever makes him happy I guess. Kal sent me some pictures of Jordan at prom and I love them!! Jordan you are so beautiful! I am glad to hear that everything went so well! By the way thank you mom for the driving record. Our car is getting sold next week so we will be on the bus but in case I drive in any of my other areas thank you!
Do you like my heading it sounds pretty depressing, but don't even worry I am not even a little bit this past week has been pretty cold. I actually had my coldest day Saturday it was -6 C. + the cold Atlantic wind. I didn't really know if I was going to survive but here I am!! Also this past week we have had a lot my rain and I have enjoyed it. Sister Olsen and I were street contacting the other day and it started to pour! And this morning we went running and the rain started coming down on us in sheets it was super fun!! I really love Halifax and I am so happy that I get to serve here. This week a lot of people cancelled on us which was a bummer, but it is all good. I am learning so much about life and the gospel and it is so awesome. Being on a mission sure opens your eyes to what you don't know. Some people ask the hardest questions and I just don't even know that answer!!! Wow this email is so short and I hope that you all don't hate me! But my time is almost up and I have to go. This weekend is general conference and am expecting all of you to watch it, cause I know it is going to be so good!!! Plus we will be watching it at the same time which is so cool. Well until next week have a fun!

Love,
